Paper Modification Guidelines

Regular Paper Submission Guidelines

After the July 25 abstract deadline and until the end of review process the following items cannot be changed:

• contact author name and email — if there is an exceptional circumstance (e.g., unforeseen job change) kindly send AAAI chairs an email at aaai26workflowchairs@aaai.org.
• subject areas

After the July 25 abstract deadline and until the August 1 paper submission deadline, the following items can be changed

• list of authors
• author order
• submitted paper

and the following items can be edited, but should not be substantively changed.

• title of the paper
• abstract of the paper

If the Program Chairs determine that an abstract or title has been changed to the extent that it describes research that is qualitatively different, the paper will be rejected without review.

After the August 1 paper submission deadline, and until the August 4 supplementary material deadline, the following items can be changed:

• technical appendix
• multimedia appendix
• code & data appendix

After the August 4 deadline and before notification NOTHING can be changed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Submissions that have “placeholder” titles (e.g., test or xyz) or abstracts (or none at all) will be deleted. Authors of such vacuous submissions will be notified that their abstract has been deleted and will not be allowed to submit a full paper.

Paper / Paper Data Changes after Acceptance and in Preparation for Submission to AAAI Press

After notification and until the preprint deadline (11/13/2025), authors may request to modify their paper title by emailing AAAI at aaai26@aaai.org. Note that authors cannot be added or deleted under any circumstances, nor can the author order be changed.

After the preprint deadline and until the archival deadline, changes can only be made at the request of the publisher.
